Traveling Americans

A collection of international travel stories authored by my family members. A year-long degree project that features full color layouts, informative captions, relevant historical data, and infographics relating individual stories to American travel trends as a whole. 70 pages, hand-bound.

Stories were gathered via personal interviews and written logs. Each family member is identified by their own color, which is used throughout the book. Images were collected and digitized from personal photos and mementos (including diary entries, letters, ticket stubs, and postcards). The bottom gray band on each spread contains additional information that relates to the story above. This includes infographics that connect each traveler to results from a larger travel survey I conducted. On some spreads, this section contains clarification or additional research relating to topics mentioned in the story above.
